A bit of ridiculous poetry

4th December 2010; Discount Tire; Holland.

I see myself
a reflection in the glass between this thought and my car.
I do not see my father
overweight, cheerful.
I do not see my mother
hopeless, short.
I look at myself
and see myself.
I do not see my father's blue eyes or the nose of my mother.
I look at myself and see myself:
A mirage imposed upon a lamed German sedan.
